Sangkasrattanakiri Temple

Wat Sangkasattanakiri, Uthai Thani Province An ancient temple built on the top of Sakae Krang Mountain in Uthai Thani Province. It is an important temple for the Tak Bat Theto tradition. From the grounds of Wat Sangkasattanakiri, there are 449 steps up to the top of Sakae Krang Mountain. It is home to a pavilion with a replica of the Buddha's footprint, which was moved from Wat Chantharam and built in 1905. In front is a large bell that Phra Palat Jai and Uthai Thani people built together in 1900. It is considered a sacred bell. Near the pavilion on the top of Sakae Krang Mountain is a monument of King Pra Pathom Borommachanokanat of King Rama I, whose original name was Mr. Thongdee. He served as Phra Aksornsunthonsat, a clerk of the Ministry of Interior, and later became Chao Phraya Chakri Si Ongkharak during the Ayutthaya period. During the Rattanakosin period, King Buddha Yodfa Chulalok, the first king of the Chakri Dynasty, (former name Mr. Thongduang) established his father's ashes as the King Father in 1795.
