Ristorante di Canaletto at Tokyo DisneySea is an Italian restaurant that offers priority seating. If you specify the time you want to use the restaurant in advance, you will be given priority seating with less waiting time, but whether you can successfully secure the designated time slot is a crossroads for your fate. There are two chances to fight. The first is to apply online from 10:00 one month before the desired date. Yes, this restaurant fills up quickly. If you can get a seat at this time, you can relax, but there are also times when your smartphone connection is cut off at the most important time, you forget, or you only decided to go to the sea a week before in the first place. For those people, there is a second chance, online application from 9:00 on the day. On my first try, I entered a subway tunnel while making a reservation, and my smartphone screen froze. I wanted a 12:30 on a certain Saturday, but after a lot of fumbling around, I was only able to get a 15:00 slot. I tried to get a cancellation almost every day for a month after that, but even though other restaurants had cancellations, Ristorante di Canaletto never had a cancellation. I wasn't always there, so maybe they had a cancellation when I wasn't looking, but it never happened to me. In the end, I applied online for my last hope of a same-day slot and succeeded in changing the time. I was able to get the 12:30 slot I wanted, even though I was waiting in a long line for soaring at 9am. I thought it might be a little early, but when I arrived at the restaurant around 12:15, the cast member confirmed my reservation time and name at the entrance and told me to wait in the waiting line. Some people who couldn't get priority seats were waiting outside the restaurant, and we were told that we would be able to be seated in about 60 minutes that day. We were soon asked if we preferred a terrace seat or an indoor seat, and then shown to a sofa in the waiting room in front of the register inside the restaurant. Many people probably wanted the terrace seats with a good view, but we told them we would prefer the first seat that became available. Well, that's equal to an indoor seat, so after waiting on the sofa for 5-6 minutes, our name was called and we were shown to an indoor seat. The interior was spacious with a high ceiling, the decoration was luxurious, and we were able to sit comfortably! The menu was available by scanning a QR code. I would have liked to enjoy the full course meal at my leisure, but I'm the type who wants to visit as many attractions as possible, so I quickly ordered pasta and oven-baked pizza as single items. After ordering, the pizza arrived without much waiting. We shared the piping hot pizza, and just as we were getting low on it, the pasta was brought out, which was perfect timing. Many of the new cast members were very novice when explaining the dishes and serving the waiters, and they were all working hard and it was adorable; I guess they're still in training. ---- Pizza Margherita (1,920 yen) Squid ink taglioni, squid, mussels and arugula tomato sauce (1,720 yen) Spaghetti Carbonara (with mushrooms) (1,720 yen) ---- (As of May 2023) The pizza is amazing with plenty of hot mozzarella cheese and chewy dough! The carbonara was by far the most delicious carbonara I have ever eaten. The aroma from the porcini mushrooms created a luxurious feeling, and the sauce was incredibly delicious. The squid ink pasta I usually eat is the type that uses squid ink as the sauce, so my mouth gets all sticky after eating it, but this one is taglioni (flat pasta made with eggs) with squid ink mixed in, so my mouth doesn't get black. It's full of seafood and the colorful presentation is beautiful! It was a dish that was delicious to look at as well.
