Ulla Cafe: A Must-Visit Spot for Stunning Photos on Ulleungdo

We visited Ulla Cafe by car, and the spacious and free parking lot made it convenient to park without any hassle. The view of Songgot Mountain right in front of the parking lot is truly impressive. At the entrance of the cafe, the Ulla mascot—a gorilla character—welcomes visitors, making it a perfect spot for taking photos. Interestingly, "Ulla" is short for "Ulleungdo Gorilla," and it seems to have become a representative character of Ulleungdo. Inside the cafe, the stylish architectural design immediately catches your eye, and they offer a variety of goods and souvenirs for sale. The gorilla character is so adorable that I couldn’t help but want to buy a plush toy. We settled down and ordered an Americano and a Cafe Latte: - Iced Americano: 7,000 KRW - Iced Cafe Latte: 7,500 KRW Although the prices are slightly higher, likely due to the location on Ulleungdo, the coffee was clean and refreshing—perfect for a quick break during our trip. When you order drinks, they give you a cute buzzer with Ulla’s face on it, allowing you to explore the surroundings while waiting. The cafe is filled with photo spots both indoors and outdoors. The outdoor photo zone with Songgot Mountain as the backdrop is ideal for capturing memorable shots. Sitting next to the Ulla character sculpture and taking a photo felt like creating a special memory of our Ulleungdo trip. Outside the cafe, you can also see the installation art featuring the hanbok suit worn by BTS’s Suga. The unique artworks, set against the backdrop of the Ulleungdo sea, are truly impressive. Don’t miss the view of Elephant Rock in the distance either. If you’re looking for a charming cafe on Ulleungdo, I highly recommend Ulla Cafe.
