Just returned from Ulanqab with the kids, stayed up late to summarize a 4-day, 3-night parent-child travel guide

Spend a few days in Ulanqab with the kids during the summer vacation! For a family trip, we avoided the crowded spots and didn't go for the 'special forces' style of checking in at every place. Letting the kids get close to different natural scenes is what makes the trip meaningful~ We also got to see the scene of 'the wind blows the grass low to see the cattle and sheep' 🐑! - 1️⃣·DAY1 Hohhot-Ulanqab, rented a car locally to go directly to the accommodation destination . The first day didn't leave much time for playing, so we stayed around the homestay. We specially chose a homestay with a farm and a non-powered playground. The play area is very large, and just playing around here is enough for a half-day parent-child experience. 2️⃣· DAY2: Wulanhada Volcano Geopark (30 minutes by car from the homestay), mainly played at No. 8, No. 6, No. 5, and No. 3. You can rent a spacesuit for photos there, and I recommend taking a family photo as a souvenir, it's very meaningful (there are many volcanoes, no need to visit all, do as much as you can). 3️⃣·DAY3: Morning - Glacier Stone Forest Geopark (10 minutes from the homestay), currently a relatively niche spot, fewer people and great for photos. Afternoon - go to a large grassland and horse farm near the accommodation farm, the grass is green now, and the view is vast~ it's a scenery you can't see in the city. There is also a self-service barbecue by the river, while enjoying the beautiful sunset! 4️⃣·DAY4: Wake up naturally, take the kids to experience picking vegetables in the farm attached to the homestay, and have the chef process them for lunch~ then have a meal of lamb and return home~ - 📝TIPS: ☑️· Temperature & Clothing: The temperature difference between morning and evening is large, around 16-30 degrees, and it's still cool during the day at around 23 degrees! Wear a light jacket to watch the stars at night, and bring a light windbreaker. Be sure to wear comfortable shoes. ☑️· Travel: Plane - it's recommended to fly to Hohhot, then take the high-speed train to Ulanqab; High-speed train - Ulanqab Station. For non-local tourists, renting a car locally is the best way to travel. ☑️· Accommodation: When traveling with kids, I consider the accommodation a lot, looking at whether the location and surrounding facilities are complete and convenient. This time, staying at Altai Qitai was quite satisfactory. The rooms are large, clean, and the service is very attentive. The main thing is that there are many places to play around, and it's quite convenient to go to the attractions. There is also a restaurant here, with local specialties such as hand-held meat, roasted lamb ribs, and milk tea~ The main thing is, you can enjoy everything without going far.
