Last fall I visited

Last fall I visited the eagle hunters of Mongolia. This felt like one of the last remote places on this planet. It takes almost a week to get to them and once there you are far from any phone signal, city or anything looking like normal civilisation. I stayed in their tents and joined them hunting during the day. They own almost nothing but are still super happy and enjoy life fully. Itโ€™s really incredible to see that some people need so little and still smile more than most :) #mongolia #remote #awesomepic #unforgettableexperiences #travelinspiration #eaglehunters #instagramworthydestinations #yurt #awesomepic

Although the countryโ€™s tourism infrastructure still has a long way to go (including language barriers, lack of paved roads, and limited options for accommodation โ€” to name a few), the challenges are worth overcoming to find the treasures that lie in the Monglian Gobi Desert. Youโ€™ll be one of only a few tourists who get to behold these epic desert viewpoints, who get to sleep under the Milky Way every night, and who get to explore the vast and boundless wilderness of Mongolia.ย  The Gobi Desert is one of the most fascinating places to see in the world, filled with prehistoric natural sites, stunning scenic views and sunsets, rich ancient Mongolian culture, and adventure that you shouldnโ€™t miss. Be sure to See the painted mountains at the White Stupa, ride horses and hike through Yol Valley, climb the sand dunes, watch sunset at the Flaming Cliffs, and stay the night in a traditional yurt. #awesomepic
