Wat Phosombhorn

Wat Phothisombhorn is located in Mak Khaeng Subdistrict, Mueang District, Udon Thani Province. It is a royal temple that is considered to be very historically important. It was built in the Rattanakosin period, late in the reign of King Rama V, by Maha Amat Tri Phraya Si Suriyaratchawaranuwat (Phothi Netipothi), the Governor of Udon Thani Province. Inside the temple, there is Phra Phuttha Rasmi, a bronze Buddha statue in the Mara-Vijaya posture, approximately 600 years old, and a laterite Buddha statue in the Pradhan Phon posture from the Lopburi period, over 1,300 years old. The people of Udon Thani highly respect this Buddha statue. People come to pay homage and ask for blessings all the time, so much so that it is called Phra Kho, which means that if we ask for something, we will get it. Open 07.00-18.00
