Wat Kanlueng, Ubon Ratchathani Province

Wat Kan Lueang is located in Kham Yai Subdistrict Municipality, in the northern part of Ubon Ratchathani Province. From the intersection of Ubon Ratchathani Rajabhat University in the province and Ubon Ratchathani Municipality, take Chayangkun Road heading north for about 3.3 kilometers until you reach the intersection with the bypass road. Turn right (use the bypass road or Highway No. 231) and go straight for about 1.5 kilometers. You will find Wat Kan Lueang on the left. The Ban Kan Lueang archaeological site is a large area. In the past, it was extensively excavated and destroyed, both due to settlement, the construction of housing estates, the expansion of the Ubon Ratchathani urban community, and the illegal digging for antiques. Only the area inside Wat Ban Kan Lueang has not been disturbed. The Fine Arts Department, together with local agencies, has jointly excavated, studied, and displayed the excavation pit as an outdoor museum to serve as a learning resource and a source of historical and cultural tourism for local people and the general public. #VisitingHistoricalSite #MissingTheForest #OurHeartsAreAtTheSea #WorthVisitingHomestays
