A traditional Chinese village

Located in Baizhangya Village, Jiamiao Township, Tuanfeng County, Hubei Province, there is an ancient village that dates back over 400 years. With its grey bricks and black tiles, white walls and square windows, corridors and secluded paths, and ornately decorated beams and rafters, it is hidden in the deep mountains and dense forests, resembling the Peach Blossom Spring described by the poet Tao Yuanming. In 2014, Baizhangya Village was selected as a traditional Chinese village. The scenery of Baizhangyan Village is picturesque, and the local customs are simple and honest. The ancient architectural complex is built along the mountainside, and the well-preserved structures include the Lin family's old residence in Zhongwan and the 'Spring and Autumn Everlasting' archway. It was the former residence of Lin Zhizhuang, the prefect of Kaifeng during the Qing Dynasty's Daoguang era. Lin Zhizhuang served twice as the prefect of Kaifeng, and due to his effective water management, integrity, and honesty, he was awarded the title of 'Chao Yi Da Fu' by Emperor Daoguang.
