Blue Hour in Tromsø

Having been to Tromsø so many times, I always feel that the Blue Hour is the most enchanting moment of this Arctic Circle town. It is the moment when the sun has not fully risen and the night has not yet faded. The entire city is wrapped between deep blue and twilight. Snow-capped mountains, bays, lights, and churches all become quiet and dreamy under this blue filter. In recent years, I often bring guests to experience this scene. Fjellheisen｜Cable Car Summit Viewing Platform The entire city is in view, watching the Blue Hour fade away, and at that moment, the aurora often quietly appears. - 💬 Tips: During the polar night period (approximately mid-November to mid-January), Tromsø hardly has a full daytime; the entire “daytime” feels like an extended Blue Hour, especially from 10:00 to 13:00. The best time for photography is usually from 45 minutes before sunrise to 30 minutes after sunrise, when the sky shows the unique deep blue of the polar region. It is recommended to use long exposure mode on your camera or bring a tripod to capture that dreamy blue.
