Lake Toya and Mount Yotei: A Natural Double Wonder of Hokkaido

Lake Toya, a caldera lake, is renowned for its crystal-clear waters and surrounding hot springs. It offers stunning scenery throughout the year: cherry blossoms encircling the lake in spring, fireworks lighting up the summer nights, autumn leaves painting the shores, and snow blanketing the volcanic landscape in winter. The lake was formed approximately 110,000 years ago due to a volcanic eruption, and geothermal activity still persists on its islands.
