Wuzhen One-Day Tour

The last time I came to Wuzhen was 10 years ago. Back then, I was just a casual visitor, staying at a riverside guesthouse in East Gate and wandering around aimlessly during the day. This time, although I didn’t make a detailed plan, I did look up a bit of information～ 🏠Guesthouse: I stayed at a guesthouse on Ciyun Street near Hongqiao Road. It was a bit noisy facing the street, so I recommend staying inside Ciyun Street. On the day we left, we saw a guesthouse with a swimming pool near the parking lot, which looked really nice. 🚶Guesthouse → East Gate: To avoid getting up early, we arrived at the guesthouse the night before. The next day, we walked from the guesthouse to the West Gate of East Gate after 9 a.m., which took about ten minutes. East Gate: At the West Gate entrance, there is a shadow puppet theater where you can watch shadow puppetry and try some handicrafts. There is a discount with the ticket. After entering from the West Gate, just walk straight along the main street. We reached the Water Theater around 10:35 a.m., just in time to see an acrobatics performance. We finished touring around 11 a.m. 🚍 East Gate → West Gate: If you enter from the West Gate, you can take the shuttle bus from the South Gate exit. The shuttle runs every half hour but is not very punctual. West Gate: After the shuttle bus stops, the East Gate entrance is right across the street. Once inside, you reach the boat boarding point. I chose to walk around, enjoying the sunshine and taking photos. When tired, you can find a café or tea house to relax. When the night lights were about to turn on, it was just the right time to line up at Ruyi Bridge to take the boat back. The first photo was taken just after boarding; it wasn’t very dark yet, but the lights were on. The second photo was taken after a while on the boat, showing the night view. We exited at 6:30 p.m. just in time for dinner. The whole trip was without backtracking. The only downside was missing the shadow puppetry and not trying the handicrafts. The third photo was taken at the South Gate’s popular photo wall before leaving the next day. The fourth photo is of the Zhejiang-exclusive Bawang Chaji tea—delicious!
