Kiyomuzu Temple in Ueno Tokyo

Kiyomuzu Temple is one the oldest Buddhist temples in Tokyo, located in Ueno Park. It is home to the goddess Kosodate, the protector of childbearing and pregnant women. The temple is well-known for its Hello Kitty lucky charm. As the temple is situated on a hill, you would need to climb the stairs to reach there. Stunning view from the temple, especially during autumn when the maple tree leaves turn a deep red. I love the circle pine tree in front of the temple, so artistic. Highly recommended to include this in your itinerary Ueno 1 day trip. It is a small temple, it only takes about 10 minutes to visit this beautiful temple and get a lucky charm especially for those who would like to conceive. Address: 1-29, Uenokoen, Taito 110-0007 Tokyo Prefecture Ambiance/Facilities: 10/10 Free entrance Rating: 5/5

#tokyospots Akigawa Valley is a serene natural retreat tucked away in the western reaches of Tokyo, offering a peaceful escape from the city's hustle and bustle. Surrounded by lush forests, clear mountain streams, and dramatic cliffs, the valley is a haven for nature lovers and those seeking tranquility. The Akigawa River winds through the landscape, creating picturesque spots perfect for riverside strolls, picnics, and photography. In spring, the area bursts into life with fresh greenery and wildflowers, while autumn transforms the valley into a canvas of fiery reds and golds. During the summer months, visitors often cool off in the river or enjoy barbecues along its banks, and in winter, the quiet, snow-dusted scenery offers a different kind of charm. Hiking trails meander through the forest, leading to scenic viewpoints and hidden waterfalls, while the nearby Seoto no Yu onsen provides a relaxing soak with views of the surrounding nature. Easily accessible by train or car, Akigawa Valley feels worlds away from Tokyo’s urban sprawl, making it a beloved destination for day-trippers and weekend adventurers alike.
