[Tokyo] Yumeji Takehisa and "The Starlight Room"

We will introduce the "Starlight Room," one of two rooms exhibiting works by painter Yumeji Takehisa at the "Taisho Romance x 100-Step Staircase" exhibition currently being held in Meguro, Tokyo! Yumeji Takehisa, a painter representative of the Taisho Romantic period, is well known for his portraits of beautiful women, but he also painted "children's pictures" that depict old tales and children's songs. As can be seen from the collection of compositions that remain, it seems that Yumeji Takehisa even wrote lyrics!
