🌧️The Nezu Museum is only open on rainy days｜Find tranquility among greenery and history

#TokyoItinerary Tokyo's rainy season is always endless, but it unexpectedly adds a hazy poetic feeling to the Nezu Museum. I avoided the hustle and bustle of the crowds and walked alone into this art treasure house hidden in the lush greenery of Omotesando. I had a journey that calmed my soul amid the sound of rain and greenery. The museum's collections focus on Asian art, and the most stunning is the gold-leaf screen from the Edo period - the delicate landscape scroll flows under the light and shadow, and the flowers and birds outlined in gold lines seem to be about to flap their wings and fly out of the frame. The Chinese bronzes, calligraphy and paintings, and ceramics displayed in the showcases allow people to encounter a familiar historical context in a foreign land. As their fingertips stroke the glass showcase surface, complex emotions well up in their hearts. Passing through the wooden door at the back of the exhibition hall, the surprise of a Japanese garden comes into view. The rain washed away the dust, and the green carpet of moss was moist and shiny. The water droplets on the maple and pine needles were crystal clear, and slowly slid down along the "karesansui" stone group. Walking along the corridor holding an umbrella, the teahouse in the distance is looming in the mist and rain, and occasionally a few koi fish jump out of the water, breaking the tranquil ripples. "Nezu Café" deep in the courtyard is a healing place on rainy days. Order a cup of hot matcha latte, watch the milk foam and tea spread out in the cup, and pair it with a piece of Japanese-style bracken cake, the slight bitterness and sweetness intertwined on the tip of your tongue. I wanted to order a sandwich to fill my stomach, but I was surprised by the thick-cut sandwich that appeared - ham, tomato and soft-boiled egg piled up into a small mountain, the bread was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Although it was a simple meal, it was full of sincerity (those with small appetites are recommended to share it with two people!). The rain gradually subsided as we left, and the eaves and fresh green of the building were reflected on the mossy trail. Compared with the splendor under the sun, I love the poetry that this rain brings more - when art and nature meet in the rain, time becomes gentle and slow.
