Nanzoin Temple - One of Japan's Three Great New Shikoku Pilgrimage Sites

Nanzoin Temple, located near Hakata, is a popular attraction and is now listed as one of Japan's Three Great New Shikoku Pilgrimage Sites. It features the 'world's largest' bronze statue of Shakyamuni Buddha, which is 41 meters long, 11 meters high, and weighs 300 tons. The statue is comparable in size to the Statue of Liberty in New York. Nanzoin Temple is also a landmark for financial prayers and exudes a rich historical and cultural atmosphere. To reach Nanzoin Temple from Hakata, take the JR Hakata Station towards the JR Sasaguri Line. It takes about 30 minutes to reach Kidonanzoinmae Station, and from there, it's a 5-minute walk to Nanzoin Temple. It's perfect for a half-day trip in Fukuoka.
