Senso-ji: A must visit when you’re in Tokyo!

If you’re spending the bulk or entirety of your time in Tokyo, it’s highly recommended, as there are few experiences quite like this there. We nevertheless recommend it to anyone visiting Tokyo, as the experience is about more than just Sensoji Temple itself–everything from the approach to the shopping street to Asakusa as a whole leaves a lasting impression, and makes the Sensoji/Asakusa Kannon Temple area a top destination in Tokyo. It's a temple in Tokyo that's worth the visit, But be advised VERY touristy and busy. It's further more impressive if you haven't seen any temples yet, and this is your first. MANY local shops and food options once you enter the area, and beautiful photo opportunities, especially at night when lit up. The temple also offers Goshuin if you're a collector and the line moves fairly quick here. Admission to the temple is free. The grounds are always open while the main hall is open daily from morning to early evening. Asakusa is known for its historic Senso-ji Temple, bustling Nakamise shopping street, and traditional atmosphere that transports you back in time.
