Route: Akagi Shrine - Neko no Yubinkyoku - Aux Merveilleux de Fred - Seagull Bookstore - AKOMEYA TOKYO - Soseki Sanbo Memorial Museum 1. In your impression, shrines are all ancient, solemn, and simple, but Akagi Shrine breaks this stereotype! It is even called the 'most fashionable' shrine by the Japanese! Designed by Kengo Kuma, it incorporates strong Kengo Kuma characteristics into the unique atmosphere of the shrine, blending modernity with tradition.
