Sumida Ward Kyu-Yasuda Garden in Sumida Ward, Tokyo 𓂃◌𓈒𓐍 𓂃◌𓈒𓐍𓂃◌𓈒𓐍𓂃 During the Genroku period (1688-1703), it was landscaped as a feudal garden by Honjo Munesuke, the lord of Ashikaga Domain in Shimotsuke Province and later the first lord of Kasama Domain in Hitachi Province. At the time, it was a stroll-style garden with water drawn from the Sumida River. (It is now an artificial pump.) Honjo Munesuke was the younger brother of Tokugawa Tsunayoshi's mother, Keishoin. It is a compact garden, but it is lush with greenery. In the center is the Shinji Pond, which is said to be shaped like the character for "heart." There are also lanterns and a shrine, making it perfect for a short walk! You can also see the Skytree from the garden.
