Throughout Japan, we experienced exceptional design, material choices and craftsmanship, but this place simply fails in this categories and is priced like a luxury hotel. For $1500USD/night, I would expect that the toilet doesn’t smell like sewage and that I would be able to exit the toilet without clawing at the door with my fingernails because there is no handle on the inside. But alas, this is not the case. The designer chose to work against the common practice of creating functional, beautiful spaces that make the guest feel welcomed and comfortable. Weird lights right in the middle of the mirror? Yep, you got it, seeing yourself while shaving is so gauche. overall it awesome
