[Tokyo/Suga Shrine] The chief priest is having a lively conversation

Suga Shrine is located near Asakusabashi Station. It faces a main street lined with wholesalers and other businesses! It has a long history since its founding, when in the 9th year of the reign of Empress Suiko (601), a disease epidemic occurred and many people recovered after praying to Gozu Tenno, so a shrine to Gozu Tenno was built on this site. Due to the separation of Shinto and Buddhism, the current enshrined deity is Susanoo-no-Mikoto. It was quiet inside, but there were more worshippers than I expected. The shrine office was deserted, so it seemed there were no visitors that day. When I visited previously, the chief priest was very interested in the goshuin stamps I had received in the countryside and we had a lively conversation.
