[Okubo, Tokyo] Neon-themed authentic Chinese food!

Zashio Shoshukan Okubo Branch 1-18-8 Hyakunincho, Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo, Room 101 They don't seem to take any days off, so they're open from 11:00-23:00, and they serve the lunch menu every day. They have 1-2 customers, and there's relatively little waiting time, even among the Zashio restaurants in Ikebukuro, Ueno, Okubo, and Shibuya. I've only been here at lunchtime, but you can order from the regular menu in addition to the set menu, so I've seen groups of people who reserve a large plate of food and eat from lunch. You order the menu on the touch panel, and if they know you're Japanese, the menu will be in Japanese. If you're still in Chinese, you can ask the staff for guidance. If you order a set meal (think of it as choosing your main course), you'll get a buffet of rice, soup of the day, side dish (one meat and one vegetable), green onion pie or mantu, dessert, and seasoned egg. Side dishes may be added when they run out, or they may be on a different menu. The meat side dishes are usually ear cartilage, sand squirrel, or horumon, but I once had fried white fish. The side dishes are either spicy or garlicky. For the vegetable side dishes, I like the ones with wood ear mushrooms as the main dish!
