Overlooking Kaminarimon and Tokyo Skytree - Asakusa Culture Tourist Information Center

When it comes to Asakusa attractions, Sensō-ji Temple, Kaminarimon Gate, and Nakaze-dori Street are definitely on the list. But there is a special building opposite Kaminarimon that everyone will notice, but few people will go in to take a look. This Asakusa Culture and Tourism Center was designed by architect Kengo Kuma, integrating wood, glass and natural landscape. As a cultural and tourist center, the basement and first floor provide some tourist information, while the middle floors are activity rooms or exhibition halls, where cultural exhibitions are occasionally available for viewing. The 8th floor of the tourist center also has a little-known observatory and coffee shop. On that day, besides me who was a tourist, there were only two Japanese tourists from other prefectures on the observatory. From the observatory, you can overlook Kaminarimon and Nakaze-dori, and even the Tokyo Skytree in the distance towards the Sumida River and Sumida.
