[Saitama Prefecture] A cat-painted lord and a long approach to a shrine

Rokusho Shrine 𓂃◌𓈒𓐍 𓂃◌𓈒𓐍𓂃◌𓈒𓐍𓂃 Rokusho Shrine is located in Kamiarai, Tokorozawa City. The deities worshipped are Ono Okami Ogawa Okami Hikawa Okami Chichibu Okami Kanasana Okami Sugiyama Okami The shrine was formerly called "Rokusho-miya", but was renamed to its current name after separation of Shinto and Buddhism. The plaque on the shrine building reads Rokusho-miya. The plaque was painted by Nitta Michizumi. Nitta was known for painting cat pictures, which were said to be effective in keeping mice away. He was said to be the "Lord of Cat Pictures".
