Where to soak in winter hot springs in Niigata, Japan

It is said that Matsunoyama Hot Spring was discovered about 700 years ago. It is one of the three major medicinal hot springs in Japan along with Arima and Kusatsu. This hot spring street is full of small and beautiful traditional Japanese hot spring hotels. Walking on this street after a heavy snowfall feels like you have entered a real-life snow country. It was already dark after skiing. When I came here, all the lanterns on this street were already lit up. There were large snowflakes floating under the dim lights. Not to mention the little potatoes from the south. I am a northerner who watches snow every day. We are all conquered by this snow scene! The heavy snowfall overnight put makeup on the entire hot spring village. There is a waterfall at the entrance of the village, and the rumbling sound wakes up the village. The first thing the villagers do every day is to clear the snow at the door.
