|Tieling Sun Palace. The Sun Palace (commonly known as the Sun Temple) is a famous Taoist holy site in northern Liaoning, and one of the few Taoist temples in China with an all-stone structure. The Sun Palace is located on Xiaolingzi, Longshou Mountain, and is named after the Sun God it enshrines. The Sun Palace was built in 1941, initiated by Liu Xinyi, a Taoist priest and the 25th generation descendant of the Longmen School of Quanzhen Taoism. In 2007, under the efforts of the Sun Palace's abbot, Taoist priest Li Xingming, the restoration and reconstruction of the Sun Palace began. The Sun Palace is a quadrangle courtyard, with the main hall and side rooms much higher than the front courtyard, connected by stone steps. The Sun Palace has a unique architectural style, with windows, walls, roofs, eaves, beams, and columns all made of stone, and no wood used in the entire building. From the overall shape to the stone steps, stone plaques, stone steles, and stone couplets, the design is ingenious and distinctive. The temple's reliefs and openwork carvings are uniquely conceived, exquisite, and skillfully crafted. The Sun Palace enshrines 22 statues, with the main hall enshrining the Sun God, Moon God, Ancestor, Lü Dongbin, and the God of Wealth.
