Icon Siam, also known as "Siam World," is a world-class commercial landmark created by a joint venture between Siam Piwat and Thailand's Charoen Pokphand Group. It symbolizes Bangkok's high-end commerce entering a new phase of global, comprehensive experiential shopping. Located on the banks of the Chao Phraya River, Icon Siam is opposite the renowned Mandarin Oriental Hotel. Interestingly, the residential apartments above the mall are also managed by the Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group. The mall features a dedicated pier, allowing visitors to arrive by car, light rail, or boat, enjoying the scenic river views along the way. Icon Siam introduces Bangkok to duplex stores like Hermès, H&M, and COS, as well as the first Apple retail store and Siam Takashimaya department store. It even brings a traditional floating market indoors, offering a blend of shopping and tourism experiences. The mall's interior is spacious, with several high atriums and some areas exceeding ten meters in height, enabling the display of large art and commercial installations and multi-level storefront designs. The basement features a floating market and dining area with unique decor, some inspired by traditional Thai architecture, aiming to recreate a Thai street market atmosphere. Others create indoor mini-forests with greenery and water features. The overall color scheme is predominantly golden, highlighting a sense of luxury. However, compared to the Siam shopping district, Icon Siam has a slightly lower brand diversity and is more of a tourist attraction.
