Chiang Mai Night Safari: A Unique Experience

When planning a trip to Chiang Mai, it's important to remember that the Chiang Mai Zoo and the Chiang Mai Night Safari are two separate locations, and they are quite far apart. I learned this the hard way when I confidently headed to the Chiang Mai Zoo, thinking it was the same as the night safari. Upon arriving at the zoo at 4:40 PM, I was informed by the ticket office staff that they were closing at 5 PM and that I should return the next day. Confused, I realized I was at the wrong place after some discussion. I then took a Bolt to the Chiang Mai Night Safari to finally experience the night adventure. The entrance to the Chiang Mai Night Safari is quite grand. I had pre-purchased my tickets on Ctrip, but the entry process was a bit cumbersome, requiring some time with the staff at the entrance, which caused a small queue. Fortunately, the Thai people are patient, unlike in some other places where I might have been scolded. Upon entering, I caught the TIGER SHOW just in time. However, the tigers seemed tired and uninterested, possibly from a long day, and were not very responsive to the trainers' food incentives. As the show ended, a heavy rain began, causing a delay as the tigers left but the audience couldn't. Once the rain stopped, I headed to the herbivore and carnivore zones for a tram tour. These areas are like a simplified version of Guangzhou's Chimelong Safari Park, with a limited variety of animals and some overlap between the herbivore and carnivore zones. Whether you sit on the left or right side of the tram, you'll see animals, but for interaction with zebras and giraffes, sit on the left. The guides provide bilingual commentary, and if you're lucky, you'll get one who can liven up the ride, making it more enjoyable. This place is particularly suitable for young children, as the proximity to the animals can be an exciting experience for them. I left the safari at 7:30 PM and had to wait 20 minutes for a Bolt ride. I was grateful to find a driver willing to take the ride, so the wait was worth it. #ChiangMai #ChiangMaiNightSafari #Zoo
