Wat Simakon (Kong)

Wat Sri Mongkol (Kong) is located in Yom Subdistrict, Tha Wang Pha District, Nan Province. It is an old temple that received the royal charter of the boundary since 1852. The most famous monk of this temple is Luang Pu Kong. Behind the temple, there is a viewpoint with beautiful scenery. You can see the green rice fields and the mountains of Doi Phuka intricately. In the rice fields, there are accommodations and a coffee shop called Hug Nan. There is a bamboo bridge connecting to the temple where you can walk and take pictures. The temple has made many arches and viewpoints for taking pictures at the viewpoint, as well as a coffee shop with a Thai atmosphere for relaxing. Inside the temple, there are many interesting things, such as the Royal Vihara with beautiful murals, imitating the paintings of Nan Buaphan, a Tai Lue painter from Nan who painted murals at Wat Phumin and Wat Nong Bua in Nan Province, as well as the Mongkhon Thammarangsri Museum, which collects various antiques for viewing.
