The Cao Dai Temple

The Cao Dai temple complex is one of the largest buildings of the Cao Dai religion. Services of the main cathedral of this complex are regularly visited by about 50 thousand believers. The Cao Dai temple complex is distinguished by its large scale and unusually beautiful external and internal views. Also, colorful and attractive ceremonies for many tourists are held daily in the temple complex. Both inside and outside the Great Temple of Cao Dai is decorated with elegant paintings. Tourists freely visit its main hall and a huge sanctuary, and also move around inside the temple. Temple columns are a colorful sight. They are painted in pink, red, blue and white. As a traditional addition, dragon symbols flaunt on the columns. The dome in the main hall is divided into 9 parts, they are symbols of the sky. In fact, this is how the picture of a starry night is depicted. The temple also houses the main symbol of Caodaism - a huge blue globe with the All-Seeing Eye. Directly above it is a dome. The altar is presented in the form of a huge ball. Its appearance is reminiscent of a star globe, on which various constellations are located and an eye in the center. In front of the altar are chairs for the heads of certain religions. Rituals at Cao Dai Temple are held several times a day, namely at 6:00, 12:00 and 18:00. Local residents take part in rituals, and women and men are separated from each other. Their ritual clothes are colorful robes. This dress symbolizes different religions. For example, red and yellow robes are symbols of Buddhism, Catholicism and Taoism, while white robes are symbols of Cao Dai. The last symbols are considered to unite representatives of other religions. The temple complex is open around the clock. Despite this, it is recommended to come from 7 am to 18 pm. Tourists can be present during the ceremonies and take pictures of the process. There are the following rules: before entering the temple, you must take off your shoes, put on skirts below the knees or trousers. Silence is also required from tourists. #vietnam #temple
