Tanzania is one of the safer countries in Africa. Easily connections from Amsterdam with KLM who operate a daily flight to Kilimajaro and second stop Dar. Most people stay at Kilimanjaro for the wild life but if you continue to Dar there are options for a day or few day safari in the southern part as well as quick flight and ferry connections to Zanzibar. The people are very friendly and during the day you should be safe. Do not venture outside at night as this is not safe. If you do want to go out get a taxi arranged by the hotel or use a trusted taxi. Credit cards are not widely accepted and ATMs may not have hugh amount of cash available but if you try a few you will be able to get enough for week.#
