The roof of Indochina

#vietnamtrip Fansipan is Amazing! The cable car ride up the mountain gives nice views of rice paddies below, and waterfalls on the way up. Once there, if you want to limit the climbing there is a funicular that takes you almost to summit. Then it’s a short climb to the summit at 3,143 meters / 10,312 ft, the highest in Indochine region. The weather up here is very unpredictable, it may be sunny at the bottom of mountain and covered in clouds at the summit. To be sure, you should bring jackets and rain gear as its windy up there and rainy at times. But the clouds are the constant. You are so high you are essentially “in the clouds” or above them. So we had to wait 2 hours for 3 brief 5 seconds of “cloud clearance” to get some amazing shots of this mountain top. This is a must-see if you are in Sapa area!
