An ancient temple that seals eye diseases, which is famous for "Tsubosaka Reigenki"

#aprilblooms An ancient temple built on the top of Mt. Tsubosaka, overlooking Mt. Yoshino, a famous cherry blossom spot in the south, and the Nara Basin, the hometown of Manyo, to the north. It is one of the famous places in Yamato, which is also mentioned in the Heian period's "Makura Soshi" and "Konjaku Monogatari Shu". According to the "Nanhokaji Kojiden" in the temple collection, it is said that the origin of the founding was engraved and enshrined a statue of Kannon by Enshrining it in the 3rd year of Taiho (703) by enshrining his favourite jar in the 3rd year of Taiho (703). The main image is the eleven-faced thousand-handed Kannon statue, which is widely believed as a Buddha with a new spiritual experience for eye diseases. Based on the story that describes the spiritual experience of this Kannon, the Joruri and Kabuki performance "Tsubosaka Reigenki", which depicts the human story of a blind husband and a devoted wife, was created.
