Shikoku Takamatsu - Yashima mountain

The first time I went to Shikoku, I saw when I was booking tickets on the website that I could buy a JR Kansai 7-day pass, and one of the stops was in Shikoku Takamatsu. The tourist pass I bought at that time can extend from Wakayama in the east and all the way to Okayama, Himeji and other places in the west. The tourist pass only costs HK$600, which is super cost-effective! Depart from Okayama, take the train across the Seto Inland Sea bridge to Takamatsu. The main purpose of this trip was to climb Mt. Yashima. I have to say here: Takamatsu is really a very comfortable place - it has a large area and few people, and you can also see the scenery of the Seto Inland Sea along the coast. From Takamatsu Station, take the train twice to Kotoden Yashima Station. After exiting the station, there is a bus across the street that can take you directly to the top of Yashima Mountain! Super convenient. Once you reach the top of the mountain, the observation deck on Yashimayama is a great place to enjoy the night view, and you can also look down at Takamatsu Port below the mountain from above. On the observation deck, you can feel the sea breeze blowing gently, accompanied by the lights below, as if you are in a charming fairy tale world🌟 When you get off the bus and walk toward the observatory on the top of the mountain, you can see an introduction to the Genpei Yashima Battle (also known as the Yashima Battle). The Battle of Yashimayama took place in 1184 and was an important battle in the Genpei War. This battle took place on Mount Yashima and was the decisive battle between the Heike and the Minamoto clan. During the Genpei War, the two great families of Minamoto and Taira fought for decades for control of Japan. As a strategic location, Yashimayama became the key point in the confrontation between the Genji and the Heike.
