The 100-Year Waiting Bridge is located in Tak Bai District, Narathiwat, about 3 km from the district office, not far from Wat Chontharasinghe. From the Tak Bai Market intersection to the Tak Bai River, you will find the 100-Year Waiting Bridge that crosses the Tak Bai River to Koh Yao, which is adjacent to the sea. It has a fine brown sand beach, a peaceful atmosphere, and beautiful rows of coconut trees. The atmosphere is shady and there is a local lifestyle that is truly Koh Yao. Children will come to run and ride bicycles here with a sense of freshness. The 100-Year Waiting Bridge is 345 meters long. In the past, it was a wooden bridge crossing the Tak Bai River to Koh Yao. However, now a concrete bridge has been built parallel to the old wooden bridge, making it the main route for the locals to travel. The name of the bridge comes from the fact that in the past, the locals of Koh Yao had to travel to the district office by boat. It took 100 years to build a bridge between Koh Yao and the district office, so it was named “100-Year Waiting Bridge”. We really like this place.
