Taitung Forest Park is located on the inner side of the Haitang levee on the coast of Taitung. It is a windbreak forest for resisting the large amount of wind and sand brought by the northeast monsoon. The artificially planted ephedra is the main tree species in the forest park. With the proper protection of the ecological environment, the windbreak forest has gradually become a city forest park for the daily leisure of the citizens. Taitung Forest Park is free to open. The core area is not allowed to pass motor vehicles. It can only be walked or cycled. Renting a bicycle is the best option. Rent a car outside the Forest Park and rent a bicycle for dozens of NT dollars. For a two-person electric bicycle, you need NT400. The facilities in Taitung Forest Park are relatively complete, with sleepwalks, forest landscapes, artificial lakes and bicycle paths. There are two artificial lakes in the park, one called Wuhu and the other called Live Water Lake. Wuhu is made up of two pools shaped like a disc. It looks like a musical instrument from a distance, hence the name. As the name suggests, the Living Water Lake is a lake that flows in from the outside and is rectangular. It is about a few kilometers around the lake.
