The oldest zoo in Malaysia : Zoo Taiping

My all time favourite place to visit when I’m in Taiping. Well maintained, well run. The layout makes the flow very easy to follow. It’s a great experience. The lions are spectacular. The enclosures look old, but they still feel safe. We had the pleasure of witnessing the zookeepers feeding the animals. Wouldn’t trade that experience with anything else in the world A bit disappointing because many of the cages were under maintenance, there were no animal present. Almost 30 to 40 percent empty. The google maps show 8 am morning time but zoo opens at 8 30. Tram ride included in ticket . The tram drivers in the morning will take up late and hence you need to wait more to be able to take it. The best way is to take a whole trip of tram first to see areas of interest and then take a walking tour. Spend more time between 9 to 11 as it is their feeding time.
