Taipei Beitou Geothermal Valley - one of the eight scenic spots in Taiwan, a dreamy steam lake landscape

Beitou Thermal Valley is located in Beitou District, Taipei City. It is a natural attraction famous for its unique geothermal landscape. The geothermal activity here originates from the Datun volcanic group. The water temperature in the geothermal valley can reach 98°C and emits a strong smell of sulfur, forming a dreamlike steam landscape. The water in the geothermal valley is clear with a slight green color, so it is called "green sulfur". The water quality is hydrochloric acid and has certain therapeutic effects on the skin. The geothermal valley is shaped like a basin, with many hot springs gushing out at the bottom. These hot springs merge into a stream and flow towards Beitou River. The environment here is filled with steam all year round, with ever-changing light and shadow. It was once known as one of the eight scenic spots in Taiwan and enjoys the reputation of "Sulfuric Spring Jade Mist". Visitors can walk from the MRT Xinbeitou Station to the Geothermal Valley and enjoy the surrounding natural beauty along the way. The Geothermal Valley Park is open every day and admission is free.
