Taipei's Outdoor Treasure: Night Views and Craft Beer at 'Zhang Men' Breeze Songgao
We should all be grateful that Zhang Men Craft Beer on the 4th floor of Breeze Songgao is still around 😂. It's truly a hidden gem and great value. The spacious open-air terrace allows you to enjoy the moon, the Taipei 101 building, and the million-dollar night view (and maybe some autumn fragrance, just kidding with the old joke) 💕.
🌟 There's not much to say about the beer. Although the selection is slightly smaller compared to other branches, they still offer classic options and various IPA bitter beers. The fried snacks are just okay, but they go well with the beer!
🌟 Zhang Men Craft Beer remains a beloved spot. It's not crowded like other places in Xinyi District, making it super chill and relaxing. Beers range from $220 to $350, with seasonal specials available. You're sure to find a flavor you love 👍.
Taiwan-Taipei (XiMenDing/RaoHe/Jiufen/Tamsui)
#100WaysOfTravel So many places to visit in Taiwan, shopping in XiMenDing at night after that visit the night market. RaoHe has a very local feel with a temple beside. The mutton soup is quite nice 👍🏻.Jiufen is a must go in Taipei, it is the real life scenery of Spirited Away. Plenty of local food and souvenir shops. Weather is cooling and can be chilly and wet at night. Tamsui is a good choice for couples to have a romantic date at one of the nice restaurants by the river. A pity I was on a solo trip thus why the selfie with my dinner 😅

Taipei 101 Countdown Fireworks
We went to Taiwan specifically to watch the New Year's Eve fireworks display at Taipei 101. This event is an absolute must-see for New Year's celebrations in Taipei, and even in all of Taiwan. The best part is that because of the towering height of the 101 building, you can see the fireworks from surrounding areas even if you're not at the City Hall. Everywhere you go, you can find people counting down and sharing the joy of the New Year together.
Two hours before midnight, we arrived near the building. There were already many people enjoying food from the stalls set up nearby. In addition to the fireworks display, there were also light effects that made the entire performance more lively. Performances by many famous singers made the New Year's Eve event even more exciting. The area near the stage was indeed very crowded, but if you just want to see the fireworks, you can avoid the area near the stage, as there are still great views of the fireworks from less crowded areas around.
Overall, the stunning and creative visual effects of Taipei 101 are truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

Taipei's Luxurious Seafood Jewel Box 'THE Spring Japanese Cuisine'
The owner established the brand 'THE Spring' with the hope of creating a springtime experience for customers in affordable Japanese cuisine (a bit romantic 🌹). You can enjoy high-quality dishes without expensive prices. It's a restaurant where customers feel 'warmth' while dining, treating guests like friends and handling ingredients as responsibly as if they were for family!
🌟 The owner's heartfelt surprises are available daily, including sashimi, rice bowls, hand rolls, nigiri sushi, fried and grilled dishes, sake, and even a hidden omakase menu 'THE Spring Set'💕. Nigiri sushi comes in options of 8, 10, or 15 pieces, using seasonal fresh fish paired with red wine jelly, truffle, mentaiko, crab paste, yuzu pepper, and more. Different fish varieties are prepared in various ways, offering a rich and layered taste experience!
🌟 This time, I specially ordered the visually stunning and delicious Fatty Seafood Jewel Box, which includes angel red shrimp, oysters, salmon roe, snow crab claws, scallops, sea snails, sea grapes, shrimp roe, and more. The visual impact alone is amazing, giving a sense of treasure hunting satisfaction. The large box is only NT$780, which is really a great value in Taipei😋.
💯 The seafood is freshly delivered daily from Keelung's Kanzai Ding, ensuring the quality of the catch and the meticulous selection and handling of ingredients👍.

Xiaobei Ping Northern Noodles Minsheng Community Old Restaurant Songshan Delicacies
Located next to the bustling food district on Xindong Street, Xiaobei Ping is one of the local old restaurants. It mainly serves northern noodles and stir-fried dishes. Scallion pancakes and steamed dumplings are also must-tries.
Crispy roast chicken is highly recommended. Be sure to eat it while it's hot. The skin is super crispy, and the meat is tender. Even half a chicken is enough for two people. The signature classic dish He Cai Dai Mao and the cold mixed vegetable hearts are also very delicious. Highly recommended.

Taipei Night Market Recommendation - Shilin Night Market
One of the most vibrant and diverse experiences during my trip to Taipei was visiting the Shilin Night Market. This market is one of Taiwan's most famous night markets and is loved by both locals and tourists alike. In the evening, the market is filled with colorful lights and people, offering a wide variety of food and entertainment.
As soon as I entered the Shilin Night Market, the various food aromas stimulated my appetite. Taiwanese street food is incredibly diverse, and here you can taste famous local delicacies such as fried fish, Taiwanese-style hot dogs, savory sausages, oyster omelets, and Taiwanese xiaolongbao all in one place. Personally, the most impressive food was the 'stinky tofu.' At first, I was a bit surprised by its strong smell, but after taking a bite, I found its crispy texture and unique flavor quite appealing.
In addition to food, there are numerous shops where you can enjoy shopping for clothes, accessories, souvenirs, and more. The prices are reasonable, making it great for light shopping. The game booths and amusement facilities scattered throughout the market were also interesting. Playing simple games with local children especially allowed me to feel the lively atmosphere of the place.
Shilin Night Market is more than just a market; it's a space where you can experience the everyday life and culture of Taiwan. Tasting various foods, mingling with locals, and experiencing the warm hospitality of Taiwan were all part of its charm. If you visit Taipei, this is definitely a place worth checking out, especially at night when you can truly appreciate its essence.

🛍️ Da Dao Cheng Pier Dock night market
#nightmarkets #100WaysOfTravel
A vibrant area at Da Dao Cheng Wharf, this is a container market style right beside the river. It is open in the day time until night time. When the weather is cooling, it is a good time to come over in the day time for less crowd. From evening onward, this night market area will be crowded. It is more like a dining by the river concept and there will be fireworks performance on selected days too. I recommend to climb up the stairs to the top of the container and enjoy a drink while looking out to the river.

#nightmarkets #100WaysOfTravel
One of the popular night markets to visit for tourists to Taipei, Raohe night market. You can come here easily with the public bus and metro train. It is a short walk from the famous wholesale fashion market too. So you can combine 2 visits together. There are 2 entrances here and the temple entrance is the more popular and most crowded. Here you can also find many Michelin recommended eateries. Bring cash with you for payment, it is easier. Else you can explore LINE pay but you will need a local Taiwanese number.
