Nagao Ena-Who Are You Woodcarving Exhibition-Circle

I saw that Yipiaorenpiaohua Space exhibited the "Who are you" wood carving solo exhibition by Japanese Okinawa professional carving master - Ena Nagao. At first, I was attracted by a large wooden sculpture with arms outstretched in the window. I really wanted to hug him, so I asked my friend to take a picture of me and him hugging through the window. Then I was moved by another 185cm tall wooden sculpture of a baby in the exhibition hall opposite. I don’t know why, sitting or standing next to it, I felt quiet and lonely… After I came back and checked, I realized that the figures in Miss Nagao's sculptures are mostly round in shape, with bodies that are sexless, similar to those of babies, and their gender and role are distinguished by hair accessories or clothes. However, their essence is completely integrated and all the lines are converged into a circular feeling. Jungian psychologist Hayao Kawai proposed the "state of nothingness" when describing the psychological image of the Japanese nation, which is usually expressed by the "circle" in Japanese culture. —— Zhang Yi【Stay in Silence Forever】 I see.
