This route covers all the beauty and fun of Tainan, perfect for those who enjoy photography, exploring shops, or traveling with family 😉 Attraction Recommendations 1⃣ Chimei Museum This museum, a fusion of European palaces and nature, feels like stepping into a castle within a garden. Its collection is incredibly rich, including artworks, animal specimens, and musical instruments. With spacious green spaces and lake views, you can easily spend half a day exploring. The museum also features a café and casual dining area, next to a large lawn, perfect for taking photos. (📍Address: No. 66, Section 2, Wenhua Rd., Rende District, Tainan City; Opening Hours: 9:30-17:30, Closed on Mondays.) 2⃣ Qigu Salt Mountain Salt Mountain resembles Tainan's snow-capped mountains. The white hills look like natural glaciers, but they're actually all salt! Hiking to the top offers spectacular views, and you can also experience salt sculpture and buy unique salt souvenirs. The trails are gentle, making them suitable for children. Nearby, there's salt brine ice cream worth trying. (📍Address: No. 66, Yancheng Village, Qigu District, Tainan City; Opening Hours: 8:30–17:30) 3⃣ Shigu Rentang Cultural and Creative Park An old factory transformed into a music dream factory, with a strong industrial feel and the sound of drums resonating throughout. The park features over ten exhibition areas, photo opportunities, and interactive games. You can listen to drum shows, climb the sugar tower, and there's also a creative market and a café (the coffee aroma mixed with the factory smell is quite unique). The evening lights create a wonderful atmosphere, perfect for couples' nighttime strolls or families to relax. Remember to book your drum show in advance! (📍Address: No. 326, Section 2, Wenhua Road, Rende District, Tainan City; Opening Hours: 9:00–20:30) 4⃣ Anping Old Street Anping is a must-visit in Tainan! The streets are quaint and charming, lined with shops offering must-try snacks like shrimp cakes, tofu pudding, and seashell ornaments. Every corner of the old houses and alleyways is a retro paradise. We recommend visiting in the afternoon; if you get tired, rest at the ice cream shop at the alley entrance and then explore the Anping Treehouse! (📍Address: Yanping Street, Anping District, Tainan City; Most shops are open from 10:00–18:00) Taoyuan Trip Tips 1. The museum is closed on Mondays, so avoid that day when planning your trip. 2. Qigu Salt Mountain has strong sunlight, so remember to wear sunscreen and a hat. We recommend wearing sneakers or platform shoes. 3. Drum show performances at the Ten Drums Cultural and Creative Park have limited slots. Check the official website or the venue in advance for the show you'd like to see. 4. Anping Old Street is most crowded in the afternoon. It's best to avoid peak dining hours. The alleys are narrow, so walking is recommended. Transportation Guide: From the Chimei Museum and the Ten Drums Cultural and Creative Park, it's recommended to take a city bus or taxi, which takes about 20-30 minutes. For Qigu Salt Mountain and Anping Old Street, driving or hiring a car is recommended. Both Provincial Highway 17 and Provincial Highway 86 are accessible. Food Recommendations: Anping Old Street: Must-try shrimp cakes, tofu pudding, and candied fruit; the creative cafes in the Ten Drums Cultural and Creative Park are also worth a try.
