A Journey Through Time and Nature in Anping

Day 1: Exploring the Anping Tree House Arriving in Anping, Tainan early in the morning, I wandered through winding alleys to reach the Anping Tree House. Originally a warehouse, this building is now enveloped by the dense roots of banyan trees, creating a unique symbiosis of nature and culture. Sunlight filters through the leaves, casting intricate shadows that make you feel like you're in a time tunnel. Inside the tree house, the traces of history are preserved, with weathered walls and intertwined branches telling tales of past prosperity and decline. In the afternoon, I strolled through the nearby Anping Old Street, savoring local snacks like shrimp crackers and preserved fruits, and soaking in the rich local atmosphere. Day 2: The Anping Fort with a Breeze from the Sea On the second day, I visited the nearby Anping Fort to experience the historical remnants from the Dutch period. Climbing the walls, I gazed at the vast sea view, feeling transported to the age of maritime exploration. Later, I went to the Tait & Co. Merchant House to learn about Anping's trade history and cultural heritage. In the afternoon, I sat by the pier, quietly watching the fishing boats come and go, letting my thoughts drift with the shimmering waves. These two days felt like a dialogue with nature and history, leaving me reluctant to leave and deepening my appreciation and affection for the beauty of Anping.
