If by public transport, take bus 50 from TRA Taichung station Attractions - The museum is the site of a former school that was heavily damaged by the 921 earthquake in 1999. The museum has 5 zones, each worth visiting. The museum is very informative and the visit is a sombre one as one can see first hand the damage done by the earthquake and only awe at the power of Mother Nature.
