| Ace Hotel Sydney | Ace Hotel Sydney. Ace Hotel Sydney is the first Ace hotel south of the equator, with interior design that retains the features of the original historic building. The renovation design is inspired by a landscape painting: allowing the warm neutral tones of the desert landscape to echo throughout the space. It creates a space that is retro, rebellious, and fully showcases modern Australian style. This 264-room hotel is located in the historic Tyne House brick factory in Surry Hills, one of Australia's earliest ceramic kilns. Ace Hotel features a ground-floor restaurant, bar, and café in the public lobby, and a rooftop restaurant and bar, bringing the rhythm of life in Surry Hills inside, making it an active cultural, commercial, artistic, and community public space. This is Ace Hotel's 10th project, with branches currently in Seattle, Portland, New York, Palm Springs, and other locations. "Although its culture and character are unique, we have always had a strong affinity for Australia—its fearless optimism and rebellious spirit resonate with Ace's roots on the Pacific coast of the United States," said Brad Wilson, president of Ace Hotel Group. The room sizes range from 22 square meters to 78 square meters, offering comfort in twin rooms or indulgence in spacious lofts or suites, with various options in between. Regardless of size, each room is warm and interesting, with lively touches such as custom Tivoli radios and D'Angelico acoustic guitars, hinting at a relaxed and familiar tone. Flack Studio is responsible for the interior space design, inspired by the Surry Hills landscape, the book "The Australian Ugliness" by architect Robin Boyd, the paintings of Australian Indigenous artist Albert Namatjira, and the pottery and ceramic creations heritage of construction sites, curating and showcasing art collections by Australian artists.
