Suzhou Tongli Retreat and Reflection Garden

#Mainland China Attractions Tuisi Garden is located at No. 234, Xintian Street, Guzhen District, Tongli Town, Wujiang District, Suzhou City, Jiangsu Province, China. It was built from the 11th to 13th year of the reign of Emperor Guangxu of Qing Dynasty (1885-1887). The garden was built by Ren Lansheng, an official of Qing Dynasty, after he was dismissed from office and returned to his hometown. The name of the garden is derived from the "Zuo Zhuan" which means "Lin's father served the king with loyalty when he advanced and amends his mistakes when he retreated." Suzhou gardens are all similar in style because they were built at about the same time.
