Dropped by for breakfast and tried two of their signature dishes the Braised Pork Noodles (招牌焖肉面) and Stir-Fried Eel Noodles (爆鳝面). Both were absolutely satisfying! 🍜 The Braised Pork Noodles came with thick, tender slices of pork belly that had soaked up all the flavor from the rich, slightly sweet broth. The noodles had the perfect chew, and the red broth had that old-school Suzhou flavor very comforting. 🐟 The Stir-Fried Eel Noodles were the highlight for me. The eel was fragrant, savory with a hint of sweetness, and stir-fried until perfectly soft. The soup had a deeper, more umami punch. Definitely a must-try if you're an eel lover. ✅ What I liked: • Strong local flavor, very authentic Aozao style. • Broth was rich but not too oily. • Portion size was generous and the price was super reasonable. • Shop is small but clean, with cozy traditional decor • Service was quick and food came out hot within minutes. ⚠️ Things to keep in mind: • Small dining area, it fills up fast during peak hours • Menu focuses on traditional noodles only, so not a wide variety (but what they do, they do well!) • Not easy to find parking nearby if you’re driving 💬 Final Thoughts: If you’re in Suzhou and want to try a comforting bowl of traditional Aozao noodles, this is the spot. I’d definitely return for the 爆鳝面.
