ShiHu - Tranquility in Suzhou 🌱🛶🍃

#thisischina ShiHu Lake/ Lake Shi/ Stone Lake is located in the southeast of Suzhou. It’s a fresh water lake close to Shangfang mountain. It was named Stone Lake because of its stone bed considered as a lagoon of Taihu Lake. The scenic area consists of temples, pavilions, towers and cultural relics. The lake has magnificent views and is so tranquil. When we arrived, we were pretty much the only ones there. We also spotted an island with a temple in the lake. I believe there are boat rides that can take you there, but the ticket office was closed and all the boats were tied to the jetty on that day. Nevertheless, it’s a huge scenic area and one can easily spend half a day there!
