Mudu Ancient Town, Suzhou, Jiangsu

Mudu Ancient Town, also known as Duchuan, Xujiang, and Xiangxi, is located in the southeast of Jiangsu Province, west of Suzhou Ancient City, and in the Taihu Lake Basin. As of August 9, 2017, the ancient town covers an area of about 74.59 square kilometers. Mudu Ancient Town was built in the Northern Song Dynasty and is an ancient Han water town with the same age as Suzhou City, with a history of more than 2,500 years. The overall spatial structure of the town is "three wedges and two pieces". "Three wedges" include rural areas such as Qionglong Mountain, Tianchi Village, and Wufeng Village, Qizi Mountain, Yantai Mountain, and Zhenshan Ecological Conservation Area, Lingyan Mountain, Tianping Mountain, Tianchi Mountain, and Qionglong Mountain Scenic Area.
