The Humble Administrator's Garden covers an area of 78 mu (5.2 hectares) and is divided into three parts: east, middle, and west. There is a residential area in the south, which is now the Suzhou Garden Museum. The layout is centered around water, with the pond area accounting for about one-fifth of the total area. Various pavilions and terraces are mostly built by the water. The garden's buildings include the Chengguan Tower, Fucui Pavilion, Linglong Hall, and Shiba Mandala Flower Hall, among others. The garden has the characteristics of a water town in Jiangnan. The pond is wide, the trees are lush, and the scenery is natural. The buildings are arranged by the water, with different shapes and heights, and the primary and secondary structures are clearly defined. The overall layout still maintains the thick, simple, and sparse artistic style of Ming Dynasty gardens.
