Suzhou Silk Museum

Suzhou Silk Museum Address: No. 2001 Renmin Road, Gusu District, Suzhou, Jiangsu Province Suzhou Silk Museum is a national first-class museum located in the Beisita Scenic Area of Suzhou, Jiangsu Province. It is a specialized silk museum. The museum was officially opened to the public on September 21, 1991, and has been free to the public since October 1, 2013. The Suzhou Silk Museum covers an area of 9,500 square meters, making it very large and spacious. Inside, there are six main exhibition areas: the History Hall, the Modern Hall, the Children's Science Hall, the Sangzi Garden, the Silk Weaving Machinery Exhibition Room, and the Qian Xiaoping Silk Culture and Art Hall. The History Hall includes six sections: the Ancient Hall, the Sericulture House, the Weaving and Dyeing Workshop, the Tribute Weaving Institute, the Republic Street, and the Intangible Cultural Heritage Hall. The museum houses over 700 cultural relics from the Neolithic period to the Ming and Qing dynasties, as well as more than 3,000 various specimens and data collections.
