Suzhou Trip - Eslite Bookstore

Every time I visit a city, if time permits, I always look for a bookstore to spend some time in. The best representation of a city is its bookstores and the people reading in them. The fragrance of ink and paper is the most noble scent in this world. I always feel that being surrounded by books is like having the wealth of the entire world. I still have the habit of reading while taking notes and writing reflections. My reading speed is actually quite slow. When I'm busy, I can't keep up with it, but whenever I have free time, I always go through my notes and continue reading. Therefore, sometimes I can't understand the fast-food style of reading that Yezhi and the others have. Fragmented knowledge always feels incomplete to me. Reading is not just a formality. I think reading is a very romantic and cool thing to do. A cup of tea, a pen, a book, a notebook, the fragrance of tea accompanying the scent of books, bringing a sense of satisfaction and endless enjoyment. Suzhou's Eslite Bookstore is the first branch of Taiwan's Eslite Bookstore in mainland China. The first time I went was with Yezhi and Qiaochu. This time is the second time. Because it was a Friday, there weren't many people. Many young faces were quietly sitting on the benches or at the tables provided by the bookstore, seriously flipping through books. The bookstore's collection is very rich, and many of the books are unfamiliar to me. I don't know why, but at the moment I saw so many books, I was inexplicably moved to tears. I can't describe this feeling, like a wandering child finding a home, a sense of inexplicable grievance, inexplicable excitement, inexplicable happiness, inexplicable sadness... an indescribable feeling. I quietly walked past each shelf, and accidentally opened Lao She’s 'Life is Rarely Leisurely'. The first page read: Life is long, why not live it leisurely. Below was a small passage: Rarely seen, so often strange, it really makes one anxious! Who can know and understand everything? Take the theory of relativity, for example, how exactly is it relative? Is it like the two generals Heng and Ha facing each other, or like lovers facing each other when they are about to kiss? I can never figure it out. This passage really made me laugh. I continued reading and couldn't stop, reading for a long time, unable to put it down, and then happily bought it, like discovering a treasure. Buying books, like gourmet food, fascinates me and I can't resist.
